EXT 1270 Titan Pellet
Large-format, high-speed industrial 3D printing with a CNC milling option. 3D Systems’ largest printer (formerly Titan Atlas 3.6) is built to leverage low-cost thermoplastic pellet feedstocks for full-scale production parts.
- 1270 × 1270 × 1829 mm build volume — parts up to 6 ft tall
- Up to three toolheads, including a milling spindle
- Up to 30 lb (13.6 kg) per hour deposition
Print Faster
Pellet extrusion prints up to 10X faster than traditional filament extrusion, with deposition rates as high as 30 lb (13.6 kg) per hour.
Lower Your Costs
Pellet feedstocks cut material costs by up to 10X, while lights-out manufacturing and optional in-situ milling help cut labor costs.
Reliable Production
A 1270 × 1270 × 1829 mm (50 × 50 × 72 in) build volume prints most large parts in one piece — no gluing required.

Built for Production
The EXT 1270 is purpose-built for production additive manufacturing, producing functional, high-performance parts for foundry, automotive, aerospace and defense, and consumer products.
A welded steel frame and an industrial, actively heated enclosure make it production-ready on day one — and it can be upgraded with a second pellet extruder, filament printing and/or CNC milling at purchase or later on.
Configure Your Toolheads
The EXT 1270’s gantry supports up to three toolheads. It ships with a single pellet extruder and can be expanded at purchase or upgraded later.
One Toolhead Standard
- PPellet Extruder
Two Toolheads
- PPDual Pellet Extruders
- PFPellet + Filament Extruder
- PSPellet Extruder + Spindle
Three Toolheads
- PFSPellet + Filament + Spindle
- PPSDual Pellet + Spindle

Pellet Extrusion on the EXT 1270
Proven with a wide variety of pellets, from commodity feedstocks to high-temperature, high-performance materials. Pellets also make highly flexible elastomers and high-percentage glass- and carbon-filled materials printable — materials that are difficult or impossible to print from filament.

Print and Mill on One Machine
Add a filament extruder or second pellet extruder on the same gantry for high-speed, multi-material printing. With the optional CNC spindle, the EXT 1270 delivers true hybrid manufacturing — machining printed parts both during and after the print.
The result is shorter cycle times and smooth, accurate end-use parts straight off a single machine.
Production Manufacturing with the EXT 1270
Increase Production Reliability
Industrial motion control — a CNC controller, closed-loop servos on all axes and remote monitoring — increases uptime and reliability.
Built for the Factory Floor
A precision-machined, welded steel frame and an actively heated, insulated industrial enclosure with door interlocks make it ready for any production environment.
Configurable for Your Needs
An open architecture lets you choose from hundreds of open-market pellet grades, and dial in printing and milling parameters for serial hybrid production.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many toolheads can the EXT 1270 have?
Up to three. It comes standard with one pellet extruder, with optional configurations adding a second pellet extruder, a milling spindle or a filament extruder.
Why print with two different materials in one part?
Common examples include printing water-soluble supports for a high-performance model material, or combining flexible and rigid materials in the same part. Dual retracting pellet extruders let you print two pellet materials together, while a pellet + filament setup lets you pick the right extrusion method for each material.
Do I have to use 3D Systems’ materials?
No. The EXT 1270 works with a wide range of pellet and filament materials from various suppliers. 3D Systems can also recommend materials already tested on Titan systems.
Can you mill a part taller than the spindle’s 100 mm (4 in) reach?
Yes. The print preparation software determines how many milling passes are needed based on part height. The machine prints a section, mills it, then continues printing — true hybrid manufacturing that produces finished, functional parts in a single machine.
How is the EXT 1270 different from the EXT 800?
The EXT 1270 can print more than 7X as large, and it supports multiple toolheads, while the EXT 800 uses a single pellet extruder.
How is the EXT 1270 different from the EXT 1070?
The main difference is build size. The EXT 1070 prints up to 1070 × 1070 × 1118 mm (42 × 42 × 44 in), while the EXT 1270 prints up to 1270 × 1270 × 1829 mm (50 × 50 × 72 in).
Is training available for the EXT 1270?
Yes. Comprehensive training is available, along with ongoing technical support, maintenance and service to keep production running smoothly.
